On This Page

I am not an expert wildlife veterinarian.

Our clinic, on the other hand is a drop off station for injured wild life where we render first aid and a place to stay until a rehab specialist can take over.

At any rate, I don't have any special wisdom to give about this subject, so this page is mostly
a collection of links to other wildlife sites

But on other pages I offer:

An article entitled:
"Don't Kidnap Baby Wildlife"

And paradoxically; a little bit about caring for the baby wild squirrels,
rabbits,
and birds
you find in your yard,

And a very funny story about beavers

LIFE AS A FEMALE BEAR

If you're a bear, you get to hibernate.
You do nothing but sleep for six months.
I could deal with that.

Before you hibernate, you're supposed to eat yourself stupid.
I could deal with that, too.

Your cubs are born while you're asleep, and you know nothing about it until you wake up in the spring. They've also completely taken care of themselves until then.
Hey, sounds like a winner to me!

If you're a mama bear, everyone knows you mean business.
You swat anyone who bothers your cubs.
If your cubs get out of line, you can swat them too.
I could deal with that.

If you're a bear, your mate EXPECTS you to wake up growling. He EXPECTS that you will have hairy legs and excess body fat. In fact, he LOVES you that way!

I wanna be a bear.

Getting Rid of Skunk Odors; a Homemade Recipe:

1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1 tablespoon liquid soap

Using a 2 quart bowl, mix together the baking soda and the hydrogen peroxide. Stir until dissolved then mix in the soap. Pour into a spray bottle and apply mixture liberally to pets coat, avoiding the eyes and mouth. Rub it in well then wait 15 minutes. Rinse completely with tap water and towel dry.
This is non-toxic when used externally. Use a fresh batch for each occasion.
This works very well and is easy and in-expensive. Please pass it along.
